Failure to restore membership after suspension due to being a phishing victim

About five days ago, I was the victim of a phishing attack on eHarmony, where my identity was assumed by another party. To their credit, they revoked my membership, as mine was "taken" by the phisher. However, not only had I had to re-take their tests, re-enter the data, and re-submit my photos, but they have FAILED to honor their promise to give me a free month. I have reminded them of their failure to adhere to their promise MULTIPLE times. They have my money, and so why are they unable to honor their end? After all, I was the victim, not the perpetrator.

Don't waste your money!

I canceled my eHarmony subscription today with over a month left in my 6-month membership. This was my second go-round on eHarmony and it will be my last! I am so disappointed with my experience. I am absolutely convinced that 80% (or more) of the people I was matched with were non-paying members, meaning that even if I initiated communication with them, they would be unable to respond unless they coughed up the money for a subscription. I received 7 new matches a day for 5 months and received exactly THREE requests to communicate – one of which was during a "free communication weekend." I initiated communication with a number of matches and received virtually no response (probably because they couldn't respond without paying!) I had put a lot of time into my profile and had multiple pictures of myself, as eHarmony suggested. I am friendly, educated, and pretty attractive. I had been on another dating site at the same time as eHarmony and received a lot of messages, and my profile was virtually the same. I think it is an absolute SCAM that eHarmony matches paying members with non-paying members who cannot initiate or respond to communication. I know there are people who have had success with eHarmony, and that's great for them. But I would STRONGLY suggest you try another site first.

My first mistake was to pay for a full year. 4 months into it, not one match within my criteria. They sent me non-paying members outside of my 30 mile radius and their responses to my complaints were "boiler plate". They are deceitful and undoubtedly the worst dating...

I joined eHarmony on June 18, 2014 and paid $209.70 for a six-month subscription. After 2 weeks, half of my daily matches "intelligently" selected by your patented compatibility matching system is "active over a month ago".

On my 3rd week of joining, all of my daily matches are "active over a month ago." I wrote a letter to eHarmony Customer Care on July 2014 and was told that matches may still be checking their personal email even though they're not active on the site. We all know that this is a generic response that eHarmony coaches their staff to address valid complaints by customers. The bottom line is, whether by mistake or on purpose, your matching system still includes former members who are NO LONGER SUBSCRIBERS.

On August 2014, the eHarmony site had another technical issue where, when I click on each match, a message prompts up which says "Match has Left the Building". This continued for more than a week, after which I wrote the eHarmony Customer Care again.

I was advised to always click the "back" button to resolve this issue. Great.

Now, on September 2014, most of my daily matches are again "active over a month". Here are the numbers:

- 09/14/14: 6 out of 9 matches

- 09/13/14: 7 out of 9 matches

- 09/12/14: 7 out of 9 matches - 09/11/14: 3 out of 6 matches - 09/10/14: 5 out of 8 matches - 09/09/14: 7 out of 8 matches - 09/08/14: 7 out of 10 matches I have three months left in my subscription but I've had enough. I want to terminate my membership but eHarmony refuses to refund me the remaining amount.

They will continue to have the same issues, the same responses to customer complaints. Other members have the same issues and have said so in their profiles.

This site is not worth the amount of money I paid for. Perhaps, with all the money that eHarmony has embezzled from hopeful customers, you can spend on IMPROVING your "patented" compatibility system to exclude members whose subscription has already ended.

Matching is broken, free sites are better

eHarmony's commercials make them seem like a service for meeting new people and finding love. My experience was more like sending messages into a black hole. I get barely any matches, and half of them don't even have any photos. I consistently get more responses and more dates on free sites like OkCupid and POF. When I contacted customer service asking for a refund, they refused, saying it was against their policy to issue refunds. I find the idea absurd. Any reasonable company would issue a refund if the customer received a broken service. In short, eHarmony is a waste of time and money.

Eharmony--beware

I tried Eharmony 6 months before cancelling my account. Much to my surprise, I was charged for another 3 months subscription after I cancelled a month prior!!! The customer representative told me by leaving the automatic renewal field on, my account would continue to renew and my credit card would continue to be auto-drafted! Not happy!!!!! I have turned off the auto renew in the past, but when I called to request a refund was told that each time I make a payment (monthly), the auto renew turns back on automatically. Buyer beware--read the fine print and log back in afterwards to make sure it is really inactive.

Stealing money from me

I have been trying to stop them from taking money out of my account, short of changing my bank. I have tried stopping my profile, emailing them and they have done nothing. They have taken money from me on different days, I thought it was cancelled and I got over drafts fees. All the matches they sent me where scams with people in other countries trying to get money from me. Lucky I didn't fall for those but it did waste my time. Nothing that they promised or advertised was there, they don't do background checks on members. BEWARE YOU WILL BE PAYING THEM FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES!

Like all the other complaints, mine is the same. waste of money and time. Sent matches from eHarmony that I'm not interested in only one was what I might be looking for...others where out of province plus most were in the States. Promise to send new matches daily...that has never happened. Totally dissatisfied with services...that were never kept.Of course this site offers to up-grade membership...sure as *** I don't think so! Would I suggest this site to other would be daters...no this site is lame and does not owe up to image that eHarmony portrays.
