Avoid eHarmony: Poor Quality Service

The eHarmony app fails time and time again. After the first day, I called to cancel and was convinced to stay for a 14 day trial period. When I got a chance, I called to cancel and was told I had to pay the $137.85 for going one week beyond the extended 14 day trial period. I have never seena company deliver poor service and have absolutely no means to refund their customers. Poor service. Poor quality product. Waste of time and money. Find a company that supports users with success. Four words: Take your business elsewhere! The last thing anyone needs is to waste their precious time and money on a company that does not possess a service mindset!

EHarmony SCAM!!!

Don't do it... once they have your credit card they continue to charge it no matter how many times you cancel or stop the auto renew!!!! It is SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! Besides 99% of all the men are just fake profiles they make up! I came in on one of their trial accounts and it has only been a night mare and a head ache since I started. I was patient on the first renewal thinking I may have missed something but on the second and a lot of money later they continue even when I took extra care to prevent it. They have your card number and they are in control and change settings with out your notice!

The people on the eHarmony commercials are HIRED ACTORS/ACTRESSES. They are NOT eHarmony matches as the commercial claims.

My cousin is one of the girls in the newest commercial airing on Aug 6, 2013. She does not even know the guy in the commercial who plays her "match". She does not have nor ever had an eHarmony account.

This is a pure scam.

if your credit card is held hostage, why didnt it cost you more than 49.00?? that is the price for one month, You and the other one that is going to sue them are a fraud, not the company. Noone forced you to join and noone stops you from quitting, these posts are just a bunch of ***

No scam, someone has been on your computer for things they shouldnt have been doing, or went to a site that does this, these things are sent out all the time when someone goes on a certain type of site, check whether or not your significant other has been going where you wouldnt go, and why would this wreck your marriage are you and the one you are married to a fool, just delete the emails, is that so hard

Maybe you need a dating site if your marriage is that weak to be threatened by an email ad, grow up, and ask your hubby or wife where they have been going on the computer, you might just find out something interesting

I am so angry! I signed up with eharmony for the 3 month subscription and they just auto-renewed my membership which 1. I didn't want and 2. they have no option for a refund after they auto-renew your membership! I find this to be very shady business practices as...

I had an auto renew charge which I had checked days prior to ensure it wasn't turned on, contacted them and they said as per their terms and conditions no refunds, so I just contacted my credit card provider and got them to cancel the charge as I hadn't authorized it

Apparently the only way to turn off eharmony renewal is to cancel your account completely. You can't just say, "Don't auto-renew me." If it was an honest business site, they would have a non-renew option, instead of making you completely cancel in order to...

It was a awful experience.put down looking for males and got females twice no way. I tried their customer service again when password not accepted and did what they e mailed me back and it did not work either. After trying to contact the customer service site I again did what it said and guess what the same thing. I just gave up and said no more of E Harmony. I will not recommend it.

E HARMONY = AUTO RENEWAL SCAM

Update by user Aug 07, 2012

i was since issued a full refund from eharmony.....they tried to get around it with all there BS but with a BBB complaint and perserveirance they gave in......i know there are 15 states with an anti auto renew law if not given 3 day notice......

type in ...... your state+auto renewal and see what comes up

Original review posted by user Jul 07, 2012
i would give it a zero or a negative if possible....another ripoff site with an auto renwal hidden in their tems area, not obvious for people to see.... no matches in weeks and if i get a match its 100 miles away or 15 yrs younger.... or worse yet someone here on a free weeknd so no further correspondence is possible......ONLY BS COMPANIES THAT CANT STAND ON THEIR MERITS CHARGE AN AUTO RENEWAL.....IF THE SITE WAS WORTH IT YOU'D BE BEATING DOWN THE DOOR TO RENEW......... and i am filing a BBB claim against them after writing this and advise all others that have been charged an auto renewal to do the same!!!!

I tried to cancel a subscription on end day & they claim the renewal was done a 12:01 am

I believed that the automatic renewal on my e-harmony six month subscription was turned off. On the end day of the subscription I got on to make sure it was not going to be renewed only to be told they renew at 12:01 am and that I could not cancel the subscription. There was no option but to continue another month for a service I did not want or need. I consider that deception and coming from a supposedly Christian company, most disappointing. The service itself was lacking in number of options and weekly contacts. I highly suggest that no one believe the tv ads for this dating site.

False advertisment

EHarmony says they have a Free Communication Weekend well don't beleive it they get you to go all through the sign up process and then after you see your matches all you can do is wink at them? So if they are also on the Free weekend they can wink back BIG DEAL How is that being able to connect with someone It's a sham just to get people to join and their prices are very HIGH and have to sign up for at least 3 months no 1 month plan is offered..... this site is a LIAR!!!!!!

Corrupt company policy!

I'm writing this review strictly based on my experience, and what I've heard about e-harmony. Several years ago, I became a member of "E-Harmony", in the hopes of finding "true love". I took their detailed questionnaire, answering all of the questions honestly. Then my journey began... and it was surprisingly just the opposite of what I had wanted. Every single match they would send me was the complete opposite of what I had wanted in a man. Culturally, race, religion. After months of getting the same "matches", I stopped my membership. But not without HUGE push back from the company. I finally had to call my credit card company to have them stop paying them. This next story totally validated my thoughts of what I felt e-harmony really was all about - MONEY. A friend of mine has a close friend who works in the offices at E-Harmony. This friend has told me friend, on several occasions that "they purposely match members up with the opposite of what their members want in a mate, so that they will stay with their site, in the hopes that in time, someone will match up with them". And that is how they keep people on their site. It is pure corruption. Why give your company a bad name like that. The truth is bound to come out sooner or later. Why not choose to be a great company, on go on "good reputation"? It's pure evilness.. So STAY AWAY from E-Harmony! You are better off joining a free dating site, like Plenty of Fish.com or OKCupid.com. At least they aren't blatant thieves! Then, only just today, I spoke with my office manager who recently joined "E-Harmony". She basically said that they've matched her up with men who live out of the country.. Yet another validation..

E harmony

E Harmony is a joke. The profiles I have received are far outside the distance and age ratio preferences I set. Guided communication is time consuming and a complete waste of time. You can find just as many jokers and married men on Match. Don't waste your time or money. Apperently, conciseness is not valued here. I am writing more to attempt to conform with the websites requirement for 100 words. Let's se if this does it. No, I need to keep writing. Don't waste your time and money on E harmony, A waste of time. Get out and do what interests you.

You are so right...I am a general manager for professional contractor. I have an above average IQ and was looking for someone with similar interests and values.

Needless to say, I was sent matches ranging from retired men 10 or more years older than myself to persons who didn't own a vehicle and we are talking suburbia, not downtown Chicago; these "matches" were so off I can't imagine what interests we could possibly have had.

I said I didn't camp or hunt; they sent me hunters and campers! Duh1

Auto renewal at eharmony

Just closed my eharmony account and found that I am stuck with a $30 autorenewal charge. Never got a response from anyone. Lots of men listed from other parts of the country. Very few to choose from. I'm really angry about the auto renewal. Please never subscribe. In the recession fewer people are signing up, so there is just not much to choose from Also too many men without education, a lot of jerks who like to hunt and fish. And too many that list golf as their only interest. No wonder they can't find a date. annoying service.

Poor service from eHarmony

I signed up for the free communication weekend with eHarmony. In fact, it is not possible to communicate with anyone during this offer, and it is used to pressure you to sign up for their expensive service. Once you have signed up, their supposed careful matching service offers a stream of seemingly random matches that by and large do not fit the profile you identified, are far beyond the geographical limits you set, and take up a great deal of time to *** through. eHarmony is a huge waste of time, money and energy, and their customer support is non existent.
