Everyone Eharmony matched me with was weird at best

It's hard to believe but the folks I was matched with had some serious social issues. I would be weary if I were you. It's sad but true that we are so desperate to meet someone that we overlook the basics. I was matched with cons from other countries who faked a Don in distress to men with severe social/mental issues. My best advice to anyone looking to meet that special someone is to go traditional. It worked for centuries so it must be right. Invest the time and effort and the outcome (on Average)will be better than online dating.

eHarmony claims to be the number one online matching service. A bold claim to say the least and one that has been made by many other sites. I am a research psychologist, much like those eHarmony hires straight from university with the exception that I'm ethical...

Automatic Renewal

I was shocked to discover that eHarmony automatically renewed my subscription for another 3 months without notifying me. And apparently I can't do anything about it because they have it in terms and conditions, which I happen to not have read.....who does? Shady, shady, shady, that's all I can say. When you fill out the eHarmony profile it takes about 2 hours to do it, so for them to expect I'm going to scroll down and read all their terms and conditions is just unrealistic. Plus, I'm not sure how they match people up, but almost everyone of my matches I ignored because they just didn't seem to be very good matches.

:( I had the same thing happen once. I was able to call them and plead with them.

I basically said that I was severely disappointed in the prior service and the partners to whom I was matched up and had not not intended to continue my partnership with them. I indicated that I would like to delete my account for good, and additionally due to financial hardship and my lack of financial ability to date at that moment in time, I needed to use the money to better myself and be able to return to them in the future, when I was in a better place. Aren't they based on Christian values and the betterment of mankind?

Surprisingly, that worked. They released me from the remaining balance of the 3 months (i.e. I got something like $48 rather than $60 back). It all rolled off my tongue. Try to call them again and let them know how you feel. Good luck!

EHarmony Sucks Not Enough Choice Poor Choices

I was a member of eHarmony for 4 months. It seems that only the fat and ugly girls sign up for this service. In 4 months time I have only been introduced to 4 women that are of average or better looks. Every day they send me 5 women to consider, and they suggest that I keep an open mind. I can not get past the pictures, either fat or ugly or both. They have run out of women in the area that I reside and are sending me the fat an ugly women from across the country at this point. They are overpriced, their system is not scientific or even user friendly. Try Match dot com for a superior service. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON eHarmony.

Hey mkevin nobody wants to play hide the sausage with you because they cannot find the mini-weenie. You ever think that maybe you are a loser and that is why you can only find POSSIBLE dates through a service that you have to pay for.

You should be on match.com :roll The point of eharmony is to open your eyes and see people who are a deeper match to you. I was on eHarmony for 3-4 months also and saw maybe three "hot" guys on my list but so what?

I had some great times with some less-attractive men and to be honest - if you are actually how you see yourself - obviously SO attractive (not shallow, arrogant and slimy as I see you), and there was a relatively ugly guy who was amazingly nice and saw me for who I was (a slightly overweight but incredibly amazing woman), I'd go for the other guy hands down.

Good luck ending up alone and miserable, or married and miserable with a Napoleon Complex. :grin

Outward beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and is only skin deep. Maybe you should look a little deeper instead of being so shallow.

Eharmony a rip off

I find that emharmony is a rip off. They say it is free however to see pic they make you pay and some of them don't even have pics. They matched me with smokers when asked not to or 72 years old. I understand that I am no spring chicken (58) but really. There is no way you can communicate with them to tell them how you feel. I asked for drinking a few times a month they send me drinking sereral times a day. I can see that I am not the only one that is unsatisfied. Is it only me in Canada?

EHarmony is a spammer

I am widowed and am not looking for a "soul mate". eHarmony somehow got my eMail and is sending 3-5 eMails every day. I have asked them to stop, they have promised to stop, yet they don't stop. I have sent eMails, I have spoken to several customer service representatives and they all assure me that the spamming will cease. They all lie. (except for the eMails which get no response or a response that doesn't match the eMail) It's obvious that they have no morals or code of ethics at all. What a horrid company! If there tactics to dupe new customers is this bad I can't even imagine what they do to people that pay for their "service"

Eharmony sucks

do not join eharmony. The service sucks, you will never be able to quit and you will have to change your email address to stop flood of spam. They post that there are free communication weekens and then give you a link to hit on. You hit on the link and they have your options to sign up for a month, 3 months or a year. No option to get free communication at all. They have no contact information even though they say there is 24hr support. I heard these guys are religious Christian owners. Well I guess in their view of their religion lying and cheating is all fair as long as it is for a profit.

I think this is a very big scam. I think they did make up matches because they only sent me 75 and not one of them responded to my emails or anything. How can that be possible if we were supposed to be a "match" or close to it in every way?

Eharmony Sucks

I paid once on Eharmony, the men they sent were less than pleasing to the eye, very old, very obese, or would close before contacting me. They kept sending me men and finally I broke down and paid again. The same results, this time they renewed even after I had closed down my profile. I'm supposed to get my money back..that remains to be seen. Eharmony is a waste of time, no one should ever use that site. They should not except profiles from people that will not submit a picture, or not send them to paying customers as prospects. No picture who are you talking to? I don't care how many people they say they have matched. It is probably one person in 2 or 3 thousand that finds someone. Just think how much money they can get if thousands try their service only once. It would also depend on how desperate you were to have someone. I was a fool twice read and a take heed. It is a total waste of very good money in this economy.

Yes, I agree it sucks. Why complete a questionnaire about yourself, what you are looking for, etc., to be send matches that do not fit any of your categories.

Then you give in and give it a chance, you meet and to your surprise, the photo isn't them, you find all sorts of dishonest individuals on their site, how they match you up is beyond me. After 3 months, I cancelled - They are not worth all the frustration of trying to meet an honest individual and end up with lies, dishonesty, illnesses, bad health issues, etc.

The list could go on. And in all honesty, I gave it a try - after 5 personal meetings, I was disgusted with them and eharmony.

eharmony is a dysfunctional and his leader, Dr. Warrern whats his name is a sociopath who steals money from people and claims to do it legally.

There are thousands of complaints on the internet that he and his staff ignores.

They renew subscriptions, after customers have cancelled their membership.

They spam on email and you cannot get them to stop, until you endlessly call and rage.

Their customer reps are in a hypnotic trance and read from scripts.

One way to stop them is call:

800-648-****.

Stay on the line and when a rep answers, hang up. The call is free to you and they have to pay big bucks for the 800 service.

After thousands and thousands of hang ups, they will get the message....at least it's worth trying.
