Eharmony is a scam, what a *** game

the site is hard to use, mobile site is worse, never any matches even close to age or distance choices but random stuff from hundreds of miles away. no way to contact the people that run the site except for email which is never answered. the terms of refund buried so deep into the terms it took 3 days to read it all and then it was too late to apply. there has been no contact from the site to me. i have cancelled the subscription and am confident from the reviews that they will attempt to recharge me at time of renewal.

Eharmony is a scam

I joined 2 weeks ago. Most of the "matches" are no longer active. The last 3 matches for me answered my questions the exact way. WORD for WORD. Not possible! I will take the 71 dollar hit but I don't want to pay any more money for this fake online dating service! I joined 2 weeks ago. Most of the "matches" are no longer active. Eharmony has many scams

You can read all the user complaints of auto renew billing but that problem is solved with a pre paid visa or mc... Simply buy a pre paid visa card for the amount of the desired subscription price at walmart or walgreens and when Eharmony goes to re-charge the card it simply wont work and this limits your losses to the amount of the original subscription. Eharmony wont have your real bank information and you would be surprised what they try to do next, they keep trying for smaller amounts for days. I guess they figure they need to get something, it must be automated as the cost to pay an employee to do this task seems counterproductive... check out this blog for other scams Eharmony is doing that nobody is talking about related to stealing your identity https://datingpig.wordpress.com/2015/07/28/the-grand-rip-off-called-eharmony-com-is-a-conning-dating-site-review/

What a racket - do not even try to cancel your subscription

You're in their system forever, apparently. I cannot believe what a racket this is. In a moment of weakness I signed up, paid in advance, etc. Have not been on the site in over six months, as I started a relationship. Suddenly I am starting to get notification emails and such, so I email customer service to ask to be taken off of the site - cancel my subscription, delete my account. They say I have been deleted, but I still get emails saying "Welcome to eHarmony!" ?!? I call and after ten minutes the woman says, I cannot delete your account here. What? She says I will be emailed by customer service to do so. I receive an email from customer service saying "Please reply to this email with "Delete" in the subject line. Well, replying to an email does not allow you to change the subject line. I tried it once by just replying and I got a Failure to Deliver email back. Next time, I tried forwarding the email with "Delete" in the subject line, and it also failed! WTF!!! I hate eHarmony. Bunch of hacks. I cannot even type correctly I'm fuming.

eHarmony engages inRacketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization (RICO) practices, utilizing systematized and ongoing methods which are dishonest and extortionate. eHarmony systematically employs untruthful methods to require customers to establish a new account in order to access the remaining term of an account eHarmony unilaterally asserts was shutdown due to alleged "....unauthorized access".

eHarmony is utterly fraudulent with its representations as to its service, performance of service, and failure to perform the service purchased.

AVOID eHarmony AT ALL TIMES. DONOT SIGN UP FOR FREE TRIAL PERIOD, DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO eHarmony.

Deceptive Eharmony

I joined this shonky site, but had to get in writing that automatic renewal would not take place, as this practice in itself is sneaky. They do not clearly indicate that they will again access your credit card without you specifically requesting it. They then have this icon suggesting you can be incognito- but do NOT tell you there is a charge to this service until AFTER you have pressed the icon. I then immediately pressed cancel, but the charged me anyway. Worse was to come. Apart from matching me with totally unsuitable members, they matched me and put me in touch with someone who contacted me. After he contacted me (and provided private email address for me to contact him), EH advise me that he is in fact NOT the person represented in the profile and I should not contact him. Yet THEY put me in contact with him and provided my personal details to him! After that I received another direct email from an obviously dubious character, and my bank contacted me to inform me that my credit card had been compromised, and it needed to be cancelled. I obviously have all the emails communications to prove this. Do NOT join this unprofessional, deceptive site. Nothing but trouble.

Automatic 6 month Renewal with E-Harmony

I called E-Harmony support letting them know I have found someone to be with and wish to cancel my subscription. She said it auto renewed a few months back for ANOTHER 6 months. Was unwilling to cancel/refund and referred me to e-mail their legal team who doesn't have a phone. Was very rude and unwilling to help. f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f v

What's the best way to complain about eHarmony? I'm sure the line is long.

I have a website link saying I have 14 days to cancel. They refused my request saying that the time is shorter. There is no "magic" in the way they pick matches. The service did not work for me any better than standing on a street corner whistling at girls. Their matches were ridiculous. They would not honor the 14 day refund policy because they said that is for the UK only. Fine... so I tried to cancel. They make it almost impossible. You can discontinue the emails but your profile is still on there. I'm still trying to get them to delete my profile and I'm having to get help from a lawyer. They only have one good thing going for them and that's their deceiving commercials. Beware.

EHarmony. Horrible Company

This is a copy of my complaint with the BBB. Absolutely no resolution. Consumer's Original Complaint : It is impossible to cancel a subscription even if you misunderstood the terms. No point to contact to call and resolve in a reasonable way. I signed up 4/30/15 with a monthly charge of $35.95. The term I requested was month to month. I paid the higher charge because it gave the illusion I could cancel at any time. The product was garbage. So after 3 weeks (5/24/15) I called to request to cancel at the end of the month. I was told my request would be forwarded to their resolution department and that there was no way to contact them by telephone. They would contact me. After 7 days and emailing them aproximately twice a day trying to get a response they emailed me back today (06/02/15) and said they had reviewed my request and it was denied. It was stated in the email that I have no recourse, thay I have a contract with them for 6 months and they would not respond to any further request for review. I standard canned denial letter. They have since charged my credit card again yesterday (06/01/15) for $35.95. I have requested that due to the misunderstanding that they charge me for a full price month ($65.00) as a resolution to the problem. I believe if you looki into this you will find they almost always refuse to actually work with a consumer to come to a reasonable solution. Consumer's Desired Resolution: I want the "so called contract" amended to what I intended. I want to pay for a full price one month subscription only. Our members are then served several confirmation pages which details the amount that they are to be billed. This is prior to the finalization of the purchase. This is not true as the terms and conditions state the customer may cancel at any time. I do not recall all of these opportunities eHarmony states they provided to make sure I understood the "contract". I obviously realize now that the wording is stated this way to give you the illusion that they will honor the customer's request to cancel if requested. Then they make it impossible to do so. In regards to the Consumer's inquiry regarding the cancellation of her eHarmony account, we have reviewed this account and confirmed that the Consumer purchased a subscription plan that requires three separate payments, billed over the first 3 months of the subscription. Obviously the business is not as clear as they state they are because I am under the impression I have 6 payments to make. As disclosed in our Terms and Conditions of service, our Members' ability to cancel their membership will be available once the final installment has been paid. While our Members may request closure of their accounts at any time, if there is an outstanding balance owed, eHarmony is under no obligation grant the request. I would like some statistics and information about the actual complaint process. This company does not seem to care about the product they offer only the bottom line, money. There is no thoughtful decision making into their decision to just automatically deny customer requests. We have disabled the Auto-Renewal feature on the Consumer's account and can confirm that the account will expire with no further charge on 11/01/2015. We appreciate this member's time in this matter and hope that she will enjoy the remainder of time with eHarmony. I attempted to close my account after three weeks after realizing that the product advertised is not what was delivered. They do not have a wide range of people in my area and keep given me people in other states with not matching my basic interests, contrary to eHarmony's claims. I took all of the information off my account and stopped looking at the so called matches after one month. I do not intend to use eHarmony even if I am required to continue to pay. One of my biggest gripes is that they do not have a customer complaint department that can be reached by telephone. They require the customer to email them. The response is obviously a canned response in which they deny your request to cancel. At the time of the denial (after waiting 10 days) they tell you, via email, that this is a final decision and they will not respond to any future request for discussion or clarification. I respectfully request that any payments received after I discontinued use of the site be credited back to my account. I also respectfully request that I never hear from eHarmony again. I thought I would make this one attempt to get resolution through the BBB. Should this not be the case I will be posting to any other site regarding eHarmony's Business Practices. I want to make sure other customers know exactly what they are getting. 06/17/2015 OttO EMAIL Forward Consumer Rebuttal to Business 06/17/2015 WEB BBB RECEIVED BUSINESS' REBUTTAL RESPONSE : We appreciate the member for expressing their additional concerns. Eharmony - Subscription Review from Portland, Oregon

I did the same as others paid for the six month monthly payments. But when to continue dor six more months i opted for the year because it was cheaper based off what their site said. When billed thinking it was a monthly deduction they hit me with a full year payment of just under $300. I would have never agreed to paid for this upfront. When i called they said i was not going to recieve my refund because it was an extention to my previous six month. No where does it say on my account where my sixth month was up. Costomer service was a joke and unhelpful. I am suck with a *** service for a year. Out of probably 1000 females i have only met three. So where is the bs that they find someone for eveyone. I would like a reembursement for what i havnt used and cancel immediatly.

Best Scam No One Knows Of

It's a money scam. They must have paid to get their name out there so people think it's huge, but they just match you w/ whoever, there is NO 'chemistry' connection. It's a scam to rip you off. They will take your credit card and NEVER let you stop paying, unless you pay them for ONE EXTRA YEAR for nothing just to get out. Then you can quit. Such a horrible joke. The website sucks, the app sucks, the matching 'system' is totally a joke. You can't easily check your interactions, can't get it to filter people out, it insists on matching me with every human on earth, no matter what I tell it I like. It's JUST a joke, it's a scam and we ALL FELL FOR IT. Class action anyone?! #HelpMeGetOut #iHateBeingASucker #WarnTheOthers #MoneyScam
