EHarmony is a front for a money theft operation

The 'service' they provide automatically renews without you requesting the renewal, then, it doubles the time for the next renewal. Currently they are making me pay for the next 12 months and I can't cancel the service. Basically it is a clever scam to get your bank account details with the 'front' of a dating service. Once they get your bank details they continue to drain money and render you powerless to do anything about it. They have a 'terms of service' policy which I did agree to when signing up with them 6 months ago. I did not read all the fine print of this document. I put trust in the company but I was unjustified in doing so. It is in this document that the scam details are located.

Eharmony Dating Site Review

In a word..... nothing....it is not possible that a reasonably attractive lady in fine physical shape would not manage to get a flipping coffee date in 3 months of being on this scam website.... no way!!!!!! Hardly anybody conforms to my specified type and for the most part are... I suspect made up profiles..... I wont be renewing or paying to renew...I promise you that!!!!!

NO ESCAPE

Filled out the information pages, when completed it took me to a payment plan page. I decided to UN subscribe.... there's no effective way to UNsubscribe. Now they fill my mail box w/ junk mail. There seems to be no friendly remedy through the company. Have blocked them as SPAM and hope that works. That's my complaint in a nut shell and YOU need 36 more words ? A total scam

I received less than 5 matches in 3 months even though i live in a huge city and got many more matches using the free dating sites. I complained to get a refund on the remaining 3 months (of a 6 month term) and then THEY went into my profile to select people of my own nationality which I did NOT want. Then I switched it back. Then I somehow ended up with tons of matches but ONLY AFTER I COMPLAINED so clearly, there is no algorithm to this. They wrote back saying no refunds and there's nothing more they would do, and that I could certainly close my account but no money back. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Awful service, failure to respond to complaint

All matches were either inactive or active months ago. I feel totally scammed. I complained and received a standard copy and paste response so I asked for my money back, they ignored it. I sent a letter and this was also ignored. Total waste of money - what a rip off - it's nothing but a scam. I felt conned into subscribing and then once they had my money, they didn't want to know. The matches were so poor, no-one on there seemed to be an active member, probably because they were also pissed off at the terrible site. It's not user friendly and I wondered whether any of the matches on there were actually real.

Similar to the other posted complaints, the majority of the matches I received was "active over a month ago". I think it's deceptive practice for the site to match me up with members that are inactive. And also, it makes me wonder whether my profile will truly be...

Rip-off!

Everything was going okay at first, i was getting very few matches which was a big-turn off. Even with the what-if, the selection was very small compared to other dating sites. However i was getting at least SOME replies. What really grinds my gears is that i started sending mail to literally ALL of the matches that i found interest in (30+) near the end of my 80 DOLLAR 6 month membership and didn't get a reply back from all but ONE. What am I paying you all for if there is NO activity. You have an auto-renewal program which is literally like stealing if you don't warn them that their membership is set to auto-renew. My BIGGEST problem with the site is that you MATCH me with UNACTIVE users who havent been on the site in months or weeks. So you do the math. I get 5-10 matches a day and an average of TWO or THREE are actually actively using the site. What a Gip!!!

eHarmony is truly a rip-off. They allow you to signup for a 3 month starter package, but clearly that locks you in for 6 months.

I'm so confused! I was so dissatisfied with the service, but you cannot stop the payments based on their "terms" unless you do it by mail in the first 3 days. Well, it takes you at least 3 days to set-up your profile.

By then, it is too late! I discourage anyone to sign-up...I'm so disappointed.

Eharmony - Membership Review from Highett, Victoria County

I called to cancel 12 mth membership and was told my last payment is in May.i said no worries cancel me after that. Was then shocked when another payment Come out in may but They said it was on auto renew. Was told to check the fine print. If I want to cancel I have to pay out the rest off this yrs payment s which is another 150 dollars. It's *** and now I'm stuck. I want an external review on this company done so they stop ripping people off

I signed up with eharmony and they took it off my email.

Idont know what happined Isigned up with eharmony. and it was working fine then i shut down for the night. the next night i went to pull it up and nothing happend. and i still cant pull it up. Ijust keep getting nothing. this is what i signed up with arthurrgreene@***.com. and my pass word would not be excepted.every time i try to put myemail address in and pass word in it would not be excepted. It tells me that it is already being used. of cause it is me and we keep going around in circles pleass fix ?

Rarely get matches

I have been on the site for about a month and I got some matches the first few days but they were all members that had been active more than 90 days ago, nothing current. Haven't received any matches or views to my profile in weeks. When I requested a refund, I was told no. They certainly don't deliver what their advertisements promise. I've never had fewer views on my profile, I'm not even sure it's being made available for people to see. The last e-mail response I received to my refund request was that they considered the matter closed and would not be responding again. SCAM!

I decided to join eHarmony - finally, after chatting with my best friend - she had just joined, bit the bullet also! I spent the time answering questions adding pics then looked for the same deal as my friend, special for $30 for 3 months. Cldnt see it, in fact the only deal I cld see was for $65 per month for 6 months. I contact customer service, spoke to 'Sophie N'. Condescending and didn't listen to a word Id said. Or appreciate that fact that I was a new customer, or consider perhaps it had taken me months to take the plunge and believe all the adverts etc and sign up. Couldnt have cared a less. Just kept repeating her spript and telling me things I didn't understand. I have the script saved in an email. Rather than go into it I can only say that I was saddened. Sophie N cldnt help me after spending roughly an hr on the whole process but then she was able to delete my account in one click. Sophie N didnt give a hoot about me. Now I feel like ive been targeted and I feel worse about myself. I feel if I did ever sign up again a red flag wld go up about me...anyway. Thats that. Maybe I'II try again another time. Sophie N is probably married with kids, a home, a family and a good job otherwise she may have had some idea about customer service. Gripe over.

What a Rip Off! At $65 a Month for 6 Months totaling $390 is a huge outlay.

Sophie N most likely gets a nice fat commission to cone lonely hearts in on a plan that's nothing like an introduction plan. I'm sure you know there are other respectable sites in your area and with you the best of luck that you find what you want.

What did you want her to do? The customer ISN'T always right.

She may have repeated a script because that's what they had to offer. The special your friend got expired. We're you asking for something she couldn't give you. If they run specials from time to time, check for them once or twice a week.

Since your friend joined, maybe they'll have some 'friend' special. Whatever the issue, it's not with customer service, it's wanting something that is not currently available. I'm a manager at a store and it's amazing how many customers think I have a magic wand and want me to change prices for them. All I want to yell at the top of my lungs is, "What makes you so special?!".

Deal with it, the sale is over, today it costs more. I can't change the price!

Either buy it or leave and stop bugging me! Wow, that felt good!

So Secure you Can't Enter

eHarmony is NOT designed for those of us who move frequently and don't maintain the zip codes we used when logging onto various websites. Further, their "forgot your password" procedure does not indicate you are entering an improper zip code. The procedure simply indicates that you will receive an email with instructions for resetting the password. Instead of a helpful email, I receive advertisements from eHarmony. Their phone personnel cannot help either because I cannot verify the unknown zip code. The agent suggested I create a new email account and start over with the lengthy process! Forget it! I'll use a simpler, more user friendly website.

Eharmony - Subscription Review from King City, California

So after using eharmony for about a month a found a very few amount of matches and none of them interested me. So I dont use it for a while then I try to cancel my subscription but it won't let me until a pay all three payments. I didn't have much in my bank account in the first place and it literally drained all the money I haas. I have a date tonight and now I can't go cause ironically eharmony took all my money to "help" me find a match. I hate Eharmony. I really really do.

Don't purchase what you can't afford. Don't enter into a contract unless you know the terms.

And don't blame others for your mistakes! Wow, I can't believe you actually blamed eharmony for low bank funds, sheesh!
