eHarmony Auto-Renewal Charges Without Notice — Refund Denied — 2018 Settlement Violated
eHarmony is charging subscribers for auto-renewed subscriptions with no advance notice, no pre-renewal email, and no meaningful way to cancel or reach customer service. When consumers dispute the charge, eHarmony denies refunds using identical boilerplate responses across multiple representatives. This is not a new problem. eHarmony paid $2.2 million in a 2018 court-ordered settlement for these exact practices — unauthorized auto-renewals, no affirmative consent, no pre-renewal notification, and no accessible cancellation mechanism. Based on over 1,900 BBB complaints filed in the last three years alone, they have continued these practices without change. If you were charged by eHarmony without advance notice, denied a refund, or found yourself locked out of customer support at the moment you needed it most — you are not alone.
