Verified ReviewerI was scammed and lost money.
- Scammers target dating sites and direct users to Telegram or phone numbers.
- This dating scene is risky due to lies.
Scammers work these sites to find their next victim. Then they lead you off the site to telegram or Google phone.
Stay away altogether. Date the old fashion way. Scammers have taken over these dating sites and made them too risky. The lies are so convincing and they literally have no morals whatsoever.
My life is ruined because of this. Learn from me.
User's recommendation: Stay away from these sites. Find someone the old fashion way.

Verified ReviewerApp response not right number
Not the right number went to an insurance company. Can't resolve an issue if I can't get to the right place for the discussion to happen.

Verified ReviewerHello, I had a membership and connected...
- I was scammed by a member; reports filed.
- Renewal shows $1,000 after lapse; I had a 3-month plan with no auto-renew.
Hello,
I had a membership and connected with someone who turned out to be a scammer. He was clearly a professional criminal with a very well-crafted, verifiable story and part of what is likely a large multinational ring of criminals. My mistake was continuing the conversation and giving him money when a date for a meeting kept getting postponed. I have filed the necessary reports with authorities and notified your company. It was a devastating experience. I trusted eHarmony to vet members, and clearly, my trust was misplaced. After considerable reflection, I decided to try again to find a compatible member.
I had let my membership lapse. When I now tried to rejoin, your site showed that I owed over $1000 for an annual membership; I had a three-month subscription without auto-renew, so that outstanding balance does not make sense.
I am contacting you to ask for your consideration for a reasonable renewal option, especially in light of your enrolling a purely fictional member who was a scam artist. I think your profiling service offers one of the better online dating matching systems, my recent disastrous experience aside. Thank you for considering my request.
- Profile matching
- Cannot screen out all scammers
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Be sure to meet your match soon after connecting and be very, very skeptical of continued excuses for delaying the meeting regardless of hos legitimate they sound. eHarmony vetting does not screen out scammers!

Verified Reviewer |I am no longer working and can not...this company does not allow you to change your mind or cancel if job changes.
I am no longer working and cannot afford to continue this membership. I have spoken to someone before and was told I can cancel my current membership but am unable to continue paying without causing hardship.
- Will not let you cancel if dissatisfied or if conditions change
Preferred solution: Just want out of the remaining membership

- Charged $952.73 for a 12-month auto-renewal.
- No notification was sent before the charge.
- Refund denied after a 50% courtesy offer.
On April 10, 2026, eHarmony charged my American Express $952.73 for a 12-month auto-renewal I was never notified about. eHarmony's own Terms, Section 13, state: "WE ALWAYS COMMUNICATE RENEWAL PERIODS TO YOU." They did not send a single email, reminder, or notification before this charge.
Three representatives responded across four emails.
They offered 50% as a one-time courtesy. I declined. Their final response: "Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the payment of your subscription and this decision will be final."
Not one representative addressed the gender mismatch issue, the fake profiles, the 2018 settlement, or the notification failure. Every response was boilerplate.
Additional failures: 9 months as a gay male with settings set to "Show me: Men," repeatedly sent female matches.
eHarmony's own Trust and Safety team confirmed one match was removed for fraud.
eHarmony notification settings: 12 options.
Zero for billing or renewal alerts.
Complaints filed: FTC (reportfraud.ftc.gov), PA Attorney General, Santa Monica City Attorney (which prosecuted eHarmony in 2018 for $2.28M for these same practices), BBB. Charge disputed with AMEX.
- Support acknowledged complaints in writing
- Detailed compatibility questionnaire at signup
- No pre-renewal email ever sent
- Support portal requires login useless if locked out
- No working customer service phone number
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Research eHarmony's BBB complaint history and the 2018 court-ordered settlement before subscribing. Disable auto-renewal immediately after signing up, screenshot the confirmation, and use a virtual or single-use credit card number so they cannot charge you without a new authorization.

I signed up to use eHarmony and paid a lot of $ only to see in less than an hour that there's no one anywhere around me to date. I contacted customer service about cancellation and getting a refund and was told I cannot get my $ back.
So why not pro-rate it for however many days I've been a member (and not even used it) and give me a refund? This is ridiculous.
I will contact your legal department as well as the Better Business Bureau. And I'll write reviews as often as I can.

Blame yourself for giving someone money you never met. eHarminy can’t vet stupidity either.
