eHarmony practices are deceptive and dishonest. Their web site is set up in such a way to make it overly complicated to unsubscribe and, if done improperly, they will not refund your payment.

In my case, the subscription expired on Jan 4, 2017. In late December, with some difficulty, I discovered where to begin the unsubscription process. After several steps, a large dialogue block appeared that stated to the effect that โ€œautomatic renewals are cancelledโ€. This is a fairly straight forward statement and one might think that the process is complete.

It is not. There is a submit button to the right that must be activated. Two other things that eHarmony does would make one assume that the automatic renewals are cancelled block is the final step: during the final subscription month there is a constant reminder to renew and second numerous offers for a substantially reduced rate are offered.

Almost anyone that wants to extend their subscription would do so at the reduced rate. There is never a warning that your subscription will expire in X days.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Monetary Loss: $70.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

eHarmony Pros: Compatibility matching.

eHarmony Cons: Failure to refund subscription renewal, Refund policy, Difficult and deceptive cancellation procedures.
